Welcome to The Great Golf CD !! You're about to embark on one of the many exciting journeys within this world of alluring images, provocative text, and sensational sounds. Travel to breath-taking courses all over the world, meet the great players, and witness their shot of a lifetime! Find out about historical events, major events, and zany events, and check out the latest and goofiest golf equipment.
You can navigate via the images, the text, the icons, the map, and the timeline. In fact, there are so many ways to travel, you just might lose yourself in the excitement -- but have no fear, only your curiosity and imagination are needed here!
Image Window:
View the images and the movies here. You can travel to a new image by clicking anywhere on the screen. Press the Zoom Icon to see the images full size, then click anywhere to return to original size. Copyright notices will appear in the lower left hand corner when you mouse over this area.
Text Window:
Scroll through the text using the arrows for line-by-line reading, or the slider bar for page-by-page reading. If you click on a bold key word, the Index will appear. Double clicking on one of the indented words in the Index will take you to the new image and text. For easier reading click on the Help Icon, then click on Enlarge Font Size in the Options box.
Timeline:
Travel chronologically by rolling the golf ball to a desired time. The image and text nearest to the chosen time will appear, and the clubhead will display the date. In addition, the category of the image and text will highlight.
Category Icons:
Each of these icons represents a different aspect of golf: history, people, events, courses, great shots, and equipment. When you click on one of the icons, an image and text pair associated with the chosen category will appear.
History:
Find out the trivial and the fantastic that have helped shape the history of golf!
People:
Meet the Stars in-front-of and behind-the-scenes!
Events:
Learn about the major events, the minor events, the unrepeatable and the unbelievable events!
Great Shots:
Witness the most amazing (in every sense of the word) shots of a lifetime!
Courses:
Visit beautiful and unusual courses around the world!
Equipment:
Find out about the latest inventions (and gimmicks) in equipment!
Help Icon:
If you're unsure of what to do, click this icon and a Help Screen will appear with instructions. You can also turn on/off sounds and animation, and increase text size through this icon.
Retrace Icon:
When you wish to return to the previous screen, click this button. This will linearly retrace the image/text pairs of your present journey.
Search Icon:
The Index will appear when you click this icon. Click on the alphabet, use the scroll bar and arrows, or type in a desired key word. Clicking on one of the indented words will bring up the related image and text pair. You can also access the Index by clicking on a bold key word in the Text Window, or by typing in a key word at any time.
Map Icon:
Click this icon for a map of the earth. You can travel around the map by using the arrows and slider of the scroll bars located on the right and bottom sides of the map. Each location with an associated image and text pair sparkles; the name of the location will appear on a flag when you mouse over the location. Click once to travel there!
Audio Icon:
To turn the sound on or off click this icon once. To change the volume click twice and adjust the controls. You can also turn the sound on and off through the Options box on the Help Screen.
Zoom Icon:
See the images full size when you click this button. To return to normal size, click anywhere on the screen.
Music Icon:
A Music Screen will appear when you click on this icon. Click on one of the selections and sing-a-long!
